Director of Client Services
The Director of Client Services ensures that client needs are met by monitoring and guiding account team activities, and by maintaining an effective level of direct contact with clients. The Director of Client Services bears final responsibility for the account's growth, vision, profitability, and the professional development of account team personnel.
The Director of Account Service has a solid background in senior-level positions in an agency environment and has demonstrated superior performance as a team leader. Advanced verbal and written and presentation communications skills, analytical thinking, personal organization and interpersonal dynamics are required. The Director of Client Services must be a capable personnel manager, with team-building skills and mentoring abilities. A clear understanding of today's Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) business landscape; the role of account management in today's agency environment; CPG marketing/branding experience; and a keen sense of entrepreneurship are essential.
Reports to the Principal.
Duties:
- Manages all account services personnel.
- Ensures client needs are properly and efficiently staffed.
- Responsible for running day-to-day execution on assigned accounts.
- Ensures continued client profitability, including the development of monthly revenue projections per client.
- Ensures client relations are positive and stable; and that senior agency management is immediately informed of any potential problems with client/agency relations, budget overruns, etc.
- Develops shopper marketing strategies and consumer promotions initiatives to meet/exceed client and/or retailer expectations.
- Trains and mentors account personnel in career and skills development.
- Provides clients with clear access to senior management.
- Leads the development of strategic marketing plans/initiatives and creative strategies before submission to clients.
- Reviews conceptual direction of campaigns to ensure strategic marketing objectives remain in focus.
- Reviews estimates to ensure budget requirements are met and profitability maintained.
- Contacts and forms relationships with senior client personnel.
- Seeks out organic growth opportunities within existing clients and plays a leading role in their development.
- Leads in new and existing agency/client contract negotiations.
- Participates in Agency/Client Performance Plan reviews.
Account Coordinator/Assistant Account Executive
The role of an Account Coordinator/Assistant Account Executive is generally to provide assistance to the Account Management staff in the day-to-day management of accounts and to develop the skills necessary to advance to the position of Account Manager.
General Responsibilities:
- Gather and assemble background information and research/analyses as needed by the Account team in development of creative briefs, incoming projects, etc.
- Provide administrative assistance to the account team including development and upkeep of status reports, financial projections, billing, timelines, preparation for client meetings, conference reports and other account-related correspondence and documentation.
- Participate in client meetings, when appropriate, and develop meeting notes and actionable next steps for the team including development of job starters, change orders, estimates, etc. to institute new work and/or revise existing work.
- Participate in internal kick-off meetings and interact with other agency departments including Production, Creative and Accounting to discuss current jobs, deliverables and timelines and assist in keeping the team on track.
- Maintain monthly production calendar for assigned accounts.
- Keep abreast of all client activities and provide general back-up to team as well as specific responsibility for projects as assigned.
- Responsible for proofreading copy and reviewing artwork as well as routing through internal proofreader, when appropriate, to ensure all work is reviewed prior to distribution to client and meets client style guidelines and mandatories.
- Ensures all projects proceed according to set plans and deadlines, alerting Account team to potential issues before they arise.
- Maintain client files for all assigned accounts, detailing past work and work in progress, including all pertinent information needed for accurate proofreading and meeting of client standards.
